
Masour Ousmane Dembélé (born 15 May 1997) is a French professional footballer who currently plays for La Liga club Barcelona and the France national team as a winger. Dembélé, who was born in Vernon, began his career with Rennes before joining Dortmund in 2016. In the 2016-17 season, he helped die Borussen win the DFB-Pokal, scoring a goal in the final. A year later, he joined Barcelona for an initial sum of €105 million, making him the joint-second most expensive footballer ever at the time, alongside compatriot Paul Pogba. Dembélé went on to win the La Liga and Copa del Rey double in his debut season in Spain, despite being plagued by injuries.
Dembélé made his senior international debut for France in 2016, after winning 20 caps and scoring five goals at the youth level. He was a member of France’s World Cup-winning squad in 2018, as well as the squads that won UEFA Euro 2020 and the World Cup in 2022.
