Sir Barry Alan Crompton Gibb CBE AC is an English singer and songwriter. He was the lead singer of the band, the Bee Gees, one of the most commercially successful groups in the history of pop.

Barry was born in 1946 at Isle of Man. In 1955, he formed a group with his twin brothers Robin and Maurice and his friends Paul and Kenny called, “The Rattlesnakes”. They played small gigs.

By 1958, the group was reformed with Paul and Kenny out and Symons in, the name was changed to “The Bee Gees”. From 1958 to 1965, the band was widely popular, selling millions of records. The fame was overwhelming for the group that they split up. Barry became a solo artist, releasing hits like “I’ll Kiss Your Memory” and “One Bad Thing”.

In 1970, Barry and his brothers decided to reunite as Bee Gee again. Barry was instrumental for the soundtrack of the disc film Saturday Night Fever in 1977. He has worked with notable artists to produce albums like Barbra Streisand, Kenny Rogers and Diana Ross.
